Legito’s Template Editor has the type of the Condition that refers to the Text Element:

  • is present
  • is not present
  • has been modified (a user changed the content of the unlocked Text Element),
  • has not been modified (the Text Element has the original content).

The “any Template Suite content” type of Rerepat will allow you to build logical dependencies between content inserted directly into a Template and content in a Clause from the Clause Library. However, it is not limited to the Clause Library use case. It can be used to refer to any Element or Clause in your Template Suite.

This new type requires a user to insert the System Name as well as the value manually.

Template authors may set Repeats directly based on the JSON Object (values of the received JSON file).

Only JSON Objects with the activated “Use in Template Editor” checkbox can be referred to in Repeats.

We added new types of Conditions and Links to the Template Editor that will allow Template authors to set Conditions and Links directly based on the values of the received JSON file.

Only JSON Objects with the activated “Use in Template Editor” checkbox can be referred to in Conditions.

There are three ways you can format your Templates:

a) Applying formatting directly to Elements and Clauses in Template Editor,
b) Defining Styles in Legito and applying them to Clauses, and
c) Creating Advanced Layout Design for exported Word and PDF documents (recommended only for the most graphically sophisticated documents).

Additionally, it is possible to set the document layout (page size, orientation, and margins) for each Next Page Section. Some Elements (e.g. Image) have their own specific formatting.

Because the content of Legito Templates is automatically changed based on defined logic, Legito contains some formatting options you may not have experienced in a word processing application such as Word or Google Docs. Learn more about them below.

It is possible to define if there should or should not be a space between two Elements, and you can also set if the Element or the following one shall start on a new line.

This setting does not affect any logic of your Template (contions, repeats, etc.) since the Elements are still in the same Clause.

Full Width

You can activate the Full Width visualization to Text Input, Select, Date, Money, and Switcher elements in the element’s Properties. The goal of this feature is to allow you to create nice questionnaires in your Template Suites where you want to connect Forms with your smart Documents. However, you can also use Full Width elements in Document Templates.

Warnings are a powerful tool for Template authors: authors can now restrict what a user can do with the Template or Document generated from the Template.

It is possible to add Warnings to the following types of Template Elements:
  • Text Input: Several new Warning types were added, including Warnings for empty fields.
  • Date: Several new Warning types were added, including Warnings for empty fields.
  • Money: Several new Warning types were added, including Warnings for empty fields.
  • Question: Warning if a user has or has not answered the question.
  • Select: Warning if a user has or has not selected any option.
  • Calculation: Warnings for empty fields added.

Warnings for Questions and Select where the user has not chosen the option shall be used in combination with the deactivated “Select first option” property.

It’s also possible to choose how the Warning shall affect the drafting/generation flow:
  • Notify only: Just notify a user about the issue
  • Prevent from Saving: Will not allow the user to create the first draft of a Document from the Template or new version of a Legito Document before the Warning is resolved.
  • Prevent from Exporting: Will not allow the user to download a Document and/or send a Document by email the first draft of a Document from the Template or new version of a Legito Document before the Warning is resolved.
  • Prevent from Signing: Will not allow the user to start a signing of a Document before the Warning is resolved.
  • Prevent from Exporting and Signing: Is a combination of the two above-mentioned points.

For example, you can use Warnings in your Template if you want to make sure that the first draft of your contracts created by anyone from your team contains the identification of contractual parties and the price is included before it’s signed.

Conditional Default Values https://www.legito.com/knowledge-base/conditional-default-values/ Tue, 05 Mar 2024 13:54:32 +0000 https://www.legito.com/?post_type=epkb_post_type_1&p=288692 The post Conditional Default Values appeared first on Legito.

You can set one or multiple Default Values for Template Elements and Clauses.

To set a Default Value, open a Template in the Template Editor, click an Element or the Edit button for a Clause, open Default Values tab in the top Element/Clause menu, click the “+ Default Value” button, and insert or choose the Default Value of that Element or Clause.

If more than one Default Value is set for the same Element or Clause:
  • Each Default Value has to be conditioned. Conditional Default Values work similarly to Conditions for Elements and Clauses, including multiple sub-conditions and nested conditions (condition groups).
  • Until a user manually changes a value of an Element or a Clause in the Document Editor, the Default Value will change dynamically based on the relevant choices or inputs a user done elsewhere in the Template Suite.
  • In the case of conflicted Default Values, the system will apply the one that is higher in the order (e.g. From Default Value 1 and 2, 1 will be applied).
Default Value can by added to the following types of Elements and Clauses:
  • Question (Default Value is defined by choosing one answer to the Question)
  • Text Input (Default Value is defined by inserting text string)
  • Select (Default Value is defined by choosing one option from the Select)
  • Date (Default Value is defined by inserting a date)
  • Money (Default Value is defined by inserting an amount and choosing a currency)
  • Switcher (Default Value is defined by choosing either Active or Deactivated status)
  • Article, Paragraph, Subparagraph, Point, and Item (Default Value is defined by choosing either Active or Removed status)

Prior to the release of this feature, we recommended using Default Template Settings in the Document Editor for default values. The Default Template Settings feature is not affected by Conditional Default Values and Default Template Settings will work in the same way.

Limitations:
  • Default Values do not work for Questions or Selects referring to Objects.
  • Default Values do not work for Reference Options in Questions, and Selects that are referring to repeated Elements (or Elements in repeated Clauses).
  • Limitations for Conditions are applicable to conditional Default Values.

It is possible to apply the Table of Contents element to all your automated Templates. A ToC element can be placed in any Clause level.

Conditions and Tags may be applied to the ToC elements the same way as any other element.

If multiple (conditioned) ToC elements are used in the same Template, make sure that only one ToC element is applied at a time in the final Legito Document. For the purposes of exporting to Word and PDF, only the first ToC will be used.
